Stop At: Angono Petroglyphs, Binangonan, Luzon Philippines

Pick up at the port and transfer to the country’s oldest known artworks and national treausure in Angono. Yet another discovery which has placed Angono in the archaeological map is a group of figures carved on a rock surface in a mountainside, which are known to date back to 1,000 B.C. From the viewing deck one can observe the 127 engravings of human, animal and geometric figures, which were known to be prehistoric art. In Angono enter the narrow street with walls and fences which are embossed with murals, illustrating the famous paintings of its resident and National Artist, Carlos ‘Botong’ V. Francisco. The murals depict scenes of rural life and struggles of the Filipinos against the Spanish rule.

Stop At: Carlos “Botong” Francisco’s Ancestral House, Dona Aurora Street, Angono, Luzon 1930 Philippines

Stop at the house of Botong Francisco, the same person who accidentally discovered the petroglyphs while on a hiking trip with a group of boys scouts.

Stop At: Blanco Family Museum, Angono, Luzon Philippines

Proceed to the Blanco Museum which showcases the paintings of Jose Blanco and his family of seven.

Stop At: Nemiranda Arthouse, 10 Dona Elena St Doña Justa Village I, Brgy. San Roque, Angono, Luzon Philippines

One final art stop will be made at Nemiranda Arthouse and Café, which features the works of Nemi R. Miranda Jr., most of which depicts local mythical figures. His café is an exhibit in itself with many of his relief sculptures on display.

End the tour at Balaw-Balaw, a restaurant that serves local cuisine including some exotic dishes such as crickets, frogs and fried itik, the town’s local version of Peking duck.
